We are just minutes from world-class surf at Carenero Point, surrounded by tropical rainforest, and steps from vibrant coral reefs.

Bocas del Toro, A surf & Yogi Delight

Why Bocas del Toro?

Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training takes place in Bocas del Toro, Panama, a stunning Caribbean archipelago located near the Costa Rican border. The province extends from the mainland into the sea and is home to some of the largest remaining rainforests in Central America. With nine main islands, 52 cays, and countless islets, Bocas del Toro is one of the most biologically diverse regions on the planet.

Known as the “Galapagos of the Caribbean,” Bocas is home to Panama’s first marine park, vibrant coral reefs, lush tropical forests, and an incredible variety of wildlife. It is widely considered one of the country’s premier ecotourism destinations and offers a rare opportunity to experience nature in its most abundant form.

Our retreat center is located on Isla Solarte, where the jungle meets the sea. Here, you’ll find the perfect balance between accessibility and immersion in nature. We are less than ten minutes by boat from Bocas Town, yet tucked deep enough into the rainforest to offer a truly transformative and restorative experience.

During your training, you’ll have opportunities to explore secluded beaches, snorkel thriving coral reefs, surf world-class waves, hike jungle trails, and learn about the medicinal plants that flourish in this tropical ecosystem. This training is ideal for yogis who feel called to the water, the jungle, the elements, and the practice of moving gracefully through an ever-changing world.

Come experience yoga in one of the most beautiful and biodiverse corners of the Caribbean.

what makes our training unique?

Our training is a study of both yoga and the self. Through connection to the jungle, our breath, our bodies, and one another, we cultivate a deeper understanding of yoga that extends beyond the physical practice and into daily life.

With a combined 40 years of experience, our lead teachers will guide you to the threshold of yoga’s vast landscape. From there, your journey becomes your own. Like yoga itself, this path is not a destination but an ongoing exploration—one that may continue to unfold for the rest of your life.

This training is designed to create a safe and supportive environment where you can deepen your practice, explore your unique gifts, and cultivate the confidence to share them with the world.

Our location is also part of what makes this experience so special. Situated on a small Caribbean island with no roads and no cars, our retreat center offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself fully in nature. While completely off-grid, you’ll still enjoy creature comforts such as hot water, reliable Wi-Fi, comfortable accommodations, and a screened yoga shala overlooking the sea.

We are especially well suited for those who feel called to the water. Swim, snorkel, paddleboard, or kayak directly from our dock, with some of the region’s best surf breaks just minutes away by boat. As surfers ourselves, we have long appreciated the lessons the ocean teaches—presence, humility, patience, resilience, and trust. We believe these lessons complement the practice of yoga beautifully and are honored to share them with our students.

If you feel called by the Caribbean Sea, the jungle, and a life lived in closer connection to nature, this training may be for you.

This training might be for you if …

-You are ready to dive deeper into the practice of yoga on a holistic level

-You love being drenched in the natural, feel a deep connection to both the jungle & sea

- Are aware that change is our only constant in life and want to open the door of awareness within yourself.

-You love the practice of yoga and want to share it with others

-You are committed to honoring the sacred container of intentional education and what it means to be a student during the entire duration of your stay at Roam Yoga & Wellness

-You believe that that when one rises we all rise, that we are all deeply connected to and on one another subsequently agreeing to live respectfully within community during the entirety of the training.

I truly don’t think a better 200-hour yoga teacher training exists! From start to finish, this experience was absolutely incredible. The quality of the teaching program exceeded all expectations. Not only did we dive deep into yoga philosophy, anatomy, and asana, but we were also treated to the most thoughtful and enriching activities that went far beyond what’s typically included in a 200hr. - Megan 2025

During my teacher training, I had the best time! The location is amazing, there is great snorkeling and kayaking just off the dock restaurant! The food is incredible, using local ingredients to prepare the best meals!! We stayed at the Manifestar Building, where we could see the sunrise every morning. It was magical! I can’t recommend this training enough, you will experience amazing yoga classes and the most thoughtful service - Charlotte, 2025

Having been part of the Yoga teacher training at ROAM, Bocas del Toro, this summer was the best I could have done to elevate my body and my mind.

The ROAM team is a wonderful hosting team, all yoga teachers who were involved in the training were specialists on their own fields. Could not imagine to get more variety in a training!

Thanks also to my young colleagues - we are a wonderful group of so different human beings coming from all parts of this amazing world.
