June, Strawberry Moon Monthly Mantra

The June moon cycle is often referred to as the Strawberry moon (by the time the full moon comes). Historically, the June moon is associated with LOVE. Perhaps this seems odd as the western world heralds February as the month of love. However, looked at through a Pagan lens, this new moon is the 3rd new moon of the Pagan year and coincides with the re-energizing of your spirit after a long winter (summer in southern hemisphere).

New Moon Monthly~Botanical Mythology

We believe in natural cycles: the seasons, the moon, the ocean's tides, rhythm of a yoga practice;  beginning with OM and ending in Savasana.  Subsequently, we've decided each month, at the onset of the moon's birthing cycle, to honor this time for creation and new beginnings. 

Each month we will share one herb or plant we use for personal healing, spiritual growth, meditation, or culinary joy. Our hope is to plant this seed of connection to the natural world in fertile and receptive soil.

The new moon is an ancient marker of planting beginnings~ Farmers used this dark space to fill the dark space of the soil with seeds. It was thought that animals would be less likely to dig up what was planted.  Much of social media suggests manifesting at the full moon, but two days after the new moon is actually the best time to plant seeds for growth & change & to keep the metaphorical ‘animals’ at bay.
